I am writing to share deeply disappointing news. In a special board meeting Sunday the 11th, our Board of Directors decided to close Link Public Schools permanently.
Our board made this decision after significant reflection and deliberation. As a public charter school, Link receives funding based on student enrollment, and these are complicated times in education. Due to unstable enrollment from a variety of particular circumstances, we do not have the financial resources needed to deliver a program that fulfills our mission and provides the enriching school experience our students deserve. We determined closure was the only responsible decision under the circumstances. We are making this difficult decision now because the longer we wait, the more disruptive it could be to our students and families.
